The first book I ever read that really affected me was Native Son by Richard Wright. Also, Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, 1984 by George Orwell, and anything from Kurt Vonnegut.

Well, they know this because he has communicated it to them, and had them
print it in the WT.It's a shame that everything else he has communicated to them has turned out to be wrong.

The bible most assuredly does NOT offer any proof that the stake was actually a cross of two intersecting beams. The actual facts of the bible may be enlightening to examine...
John 20:25- "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails..."
Why is it plural? If it was an upright stake there would only have been one nail used.

They knocked this morning, dog was NOT happy.
by Odrade inthis morning an older gentleman knocked on our door to give us the leaflet invite to the d.c. which is being held locally this year.
my husband answered because i was still in my oh-so-sexy stretched out hot pink pajamas.
neither of us recognized him, but i knew the name because my parents talk about him sometimes (friends.

Just got back from the Public Talk/WT study......very disappointed
by R.F. inso i finally went back to the sunday meeting after missing it for over a month.
i've been to the tms/service meeting a couple of weeks ago by the way, but i've consistently missed the one for sunday.. i dreaded going, but i think i will go to the sunday meetings every couple of weeks for a while.
between my dad and another factor, i think it will be best to go that route for a while.

The thing that made me very disappointed was the fact that he mentioned disasters that happen and how JWs are the only ones there for people when disaster happens.
They show up when other JWs are affected, or when kingdom halls are destroyed, but they don't care about anyone else. Did any of them lift a finger after 9/11?

Let the stones cry out!
by WTWizard inhow often have you heard the phrase "if we don't preach, the stones would cry out"?
this is in regard to the ministry.. what i cannot figure out is (1) this is so urgent that we have to be out 18+ hours a day doing it, (2) we have to endure all sorts of conditions to accomplish our ministry, and (3) we are supposed to get it perfect so people can be drawn in.
so, why don't the stones get to help us out?

Would the stones go door to door? How would they carry their briefcases?

Whatever it tastes like, it would probably give you salmonella or ecoli. It would definitely have to be washed down with a few tequila shooters.

And have believed so for over 130 years.
